Hamilton, Victoria - District A60
Celebrates its Charter

District A60 officially welcomed the Inner Wheel Club of Hamilton, Victoria at a special Charter Night on 17 October 2009.

A wonderful night of celebration and friendship was shared by 27 new Hamilton members and 90 guests.

Hamilton has made history by having both the International Inner Wheel President, Anne Fryer from England attend along with Inner Wheel Australia President, Lorraine Hyde.  To have both International and National Presidents in attendance is certainly a very rare privilege when clubs are chartered.   Both presidents welcomed the Hamilton members to the Inner Wheel organisation and congratulated them on having so many Charter members.

The Rotary Clubs of Hamilton and Hamilton North jointly sponsored and supported the new Inner Wheel club, both financially and with the presentation of the Collar and Jewel. This was officially presented to Charter President, Jo Howell by the President of the Rotary Club of Hamilton, Peter Schroder. The Rotary Club Presidents joined President Jo in the celebration of the cutting of the beautiful cake.

All District Clubs and many guests presented a variety of gifts to the new Club and the night concluded with thank you gifts from the new Club to all who helped support them on their way to Charter.  Charter President, Jo Howell, specially thanked IWA President Lorraine Hyde, the IWA Executive, and IIW President Anne Fryer for the great honour bestowed on the club by her presence at the Charter.  Rotary District Governor, Chris Sims, and Deputy Mayor Bob Penny, (who is also District 9780 Assistant Governor), were thanked for attending the occasion and for the wonderful support provided by Rotary.

Lots of fellowship followed which concluded a very special and successful evening.
