Following a successful inaugural meeting in July, the magnificent venue of Riverside Oaks, Cattai was chosen by members of The Hawkesbury Club for their Charter Luncheon on 1 November 2009. 

Clubs from all over Australia were invited and over 100 guests were present, including Inner Wheel Australia President, Lorraine Hyde.

The function room overlooked the beautiful Riverstone Golf Course and there were sighs of envy from all the golfers  present.

The tables were beautifully set and decorated with  boxes of exquisite  dark pink roses, which were  to be the prize in a lucky number competition.  Programmes, menus and place cards were similarly decorated with printed roses.

A53 Council Member, Rosslyn Bushell , was  an eloquent and excellent MC and kept proceedings moving along.    The usual Inner Wheel ceremonies  were performed by A53 District Committee members and International Inner Wheel Board Member, Liz Ralston gave the Toast to  International Inner Wheel, which was enthusiastically accepted.

A ' New Generation' Club, The Hawkesbury was sponsored by Norwest Club and includes two daughters of A53 Members.  Twenty ladies have now become Charter members of the new club.

The Induction ceremony was performed by A53 Dictrict Chairman, Allison Hodges, a member of the Norwest Club.  Each new member was presented with her badge and a red rose and posed for a group photo with National President Lorraine and District Chairman Allison, together with Past A53 Extension Officer Margaret Lamb (Inner Wheel Australia Secretary) and current A53 Extension Officer, Maralyne Skeggs.

Charter President Christine Ananin thanked everyone for coming and promised that The Hawkesbury Club would  do its best  to be an active cog in Inner Wheel.
