The Inner Wheel Club of Melville, were joined by Rotarians for a ‘Sundowner’ at the environmentally sensitive area, Piney Lakes. Following the welcome to IIW President Kamala by His Worship the Mayor of Melville, Russell Aubrey, who is an Honorary Rotarian, Rotary Club of Applecross, District 9460, a tree planting was arranged along with a plaque to commemorate this significant visit. |

Although unclear in this photo, IIW President Kamala is wearing the beautiful gold presidential chain presented to International Inner Wheel in 1977 by Past IWA President, Gwen Davies, on behalf of Australian members. It was purchased with funds left over from the International IW Convention held in Sydney in 1975 (the first international convention to be held outside Great Britain and Ireland). IIW then attached the beautiful symbolic blue and gold medallion of the world which existed prior to the gold chain. (Mrs Marie-Claire Cronstedt of Sweden was the first IIW President to wear the chain.)
